The Schulz property 'Coolaroo' is located in the Field District, situated near the iconic Coorong (35kms from Meningie) in the Upper South East of South Australia.

The family has owned land in the district since 1963, with the purchase of the 'Coolaroo' property in 1976. The Field district is renowned for its ability to grow and finish stock, due to its mild winters and cool afternoon coastal breezes in summer-time.

'Coolaroo' has an annual average rainfall of 450mm and features well-draining sandy loam over clay soils. The property has been sown down to lucerne, veldt and rye grass pastures, which have been fenced up into a series of 20 hectare paddocks for a rotational grazing management system, which maximises pasture utilisation.

Historically 'Coolaroo' has been predominently a sheep and cropping enterprise, but today comprises the Raven Limousin & Lim-Flex seedstock business, in addition to a mixed enterprise of commercial Limousin cross milk vealers, prime lambs and an annual draft of reputable Border Leicester first cross ewe lambs which are sold in November at the Naracoorte Blue Ribbon feature sale.
